Hudson-Dead served as Security Policy Director and Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, overseeing NATO, OSCE, Nordi/Baltic, UK, and Ireland Relations. She is currently the acting Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission in Oslo, advancing Arctic security, energy cooperation, and defense industry coordination. This is a great opportunity for International Relations majors, minors, or prospective students to learn, engage, ask questions, and network with a professional.

Annual Flag Parade

To kick off International Education Week, Lehigh students will take part in the annual Flag Parade, carrying flags representing countries from around the world. The parade will depart Coxe Hall, walk through campus, and end at the UC Flag pole, led by our international students.

Listening Differently Workshop

Join us for a workshop designed to help you develop the skills to both listen differently and listen for difference. Speaking and listening are learned skills shaped by culture, gender, and social context. In this interactive session, you’ll explore the dynamics of communication, practice new methods, and create an action plan for more inclusive listening and conversation practices—particularly in educational settings. Island Resilience: Caribbean Women & the Future of Equitable Leadership

Facilitated by Sydane Morrison, Graduate Assistant at the Gender, Leadership & Equity Center, this session explores how Caribbean values and gender perspectives shape inclusive leadership in the face of climate, social, and economic challenges. Through storytelling, visuals, and dialogue, participants will reflect on what the world can learn from Caribbean models of leadership and how allyship and equity can strengthen communities everywhere.

Join Eugene Albulescu, Lehigh University Professor of Music and award-winning conductor and pianist, for a special International Education Week event exploring the global nature of music and the value of international education in music. Prof. Albulescu will perform a Baroque suite featuring dances from across Europe—Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and Ireland—culminating in an Argentinian tango. His performance and lecture will highlight the value of international education in the arts. This event is open to the public, and attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch; light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Youth Voices for Health & Gender Equity: Shaping CSW 70 Recommendations at the United Nations

Join Youth Representatives from CLAN and the Center for Public Health un Nigeria as we highlight the voices of influential youth leaders from around the world in the field of health. We will discuss concrete actions students can take to further health equity, with a focus on the critical intersection of gender equity. We encourage the development of recommendations to present at CSW70 (the 70th Commission on the Status of Women) at the UN, from youth voices on these intertwined issues

Ambassador Kwatra will discuss U.S.-India relations and Lehigh University’s role in global engagement, offering insights into diplomacy, education, and international collaboration

This event is open to Lehigh faculty, staff, and students.

The conversation will be facilitated by Richard Verma ’90, former U.S. Ambassador to India and Lehigh’s inaugural President’s Distinguished Fellow.

Iacocca Leadership Talk: Transforming Education in Africa

Join Dr. Babs Omotowa, President of the Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM), for a conversation on innovation, leadership, and the future of higher education in Africa.

This event will be held on Monday, Nov. 10, at 4:30 p.m. at HST 101, and is open to Lehigh faculty, staff, and students. Pre-registration is required; visit here to register.

It is part of the Iacocca Global Leaders Speaker Series, hosted by the Lee Iacocca Institute for Global Leadership.

NUTM is a new private university in Lagos that is quickly gaining recognition as a disruptor in African higher education, with a mission to develop the continent’s next generation of leaders in technology and management.

Its model—emphasizing employability, entrepreneurship, and real-world impact—has drawn global attention and parallels the success of India’s Ashoka University, a Lehigh partner institution. Dr. Omotowa will share insights on NUTM’s ambitious growth strategy.
